Does this sound familiar?

"Everyone keeps telling me to enjoy every moment. But I feel anxious, exhausted, and nothing like myself."

Maybe it is intrusive worries that will not quiet down. A child whose big feelings turn every evening into a battle. A teen who used to talk to you and now shuts her door. These struggles are real, they are common, and they respond to the right support.

Sheena Diaz, LPC, therapist at Art & Soul Counseling Studio

Hi, I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Sheena Diaz, a Licensed Professional Counselor and the heart behind Art & Soul. Maybe you found this page at 2 a.m. with a baby on your chest, or after another hard conversation with your teenager, or in a quiet moment when you finally admitted you need something for yourself. However you arrived, I want you to know: reaching out is not a weakness. It is one of the bravest, most loving things you can do for yourself and the people who need you.

My work weaves together talk therapy with creative and expressive approaches, because healing does not always start with words. Sometimes it starts with art, with play, with simply being met exactly where you are.

"The bond you build with your baby, the play that helps your child heal, the identity your teen is fighting for: it is all one story of connection. We just meet it at different chapters."

The Art & Soul way

One practice, one story

Growth, attachment, and connection at every stage of life.

Everything at Art & Soul flows from one belief: we heal in relationship. The bond between a mother and her baby. The trust between a child and the adults who hold their world steady. The relationship a teenager is building with herself. A woman's relationship with the person she is becoming. These are not separate stories. They are chapters of the same one, and each service here supports a different chapter.

Beginning

Growing

Childhood and adolescence, where play, expression, and steady connection help young people make sense of big feelings.

Becoming

How I can help

Good questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you take insurance? +

I am currently an in-network provider with Aetna. If you have another insurance plan, I am considered an out-of-network provider and can provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement. We can talk through your options during your free consultation so you have a clear understanding of what to expect.

Is virtual therapy as effective as in person? +

For most concerns, yes. Research consistently shows telehealth therapy produces outcomes comparable to in-person care, and for new mothers it can be the difference between getting support and going without. Sessions happen over a secure video platform from wherever you are in Georgia, nap schedule and all.

Play therapy for adults? Really? +

Really. Play and expressive approaches like art, sand tray, and movement give adults a way to reach feelings that talk alone cannot. If you have ever felt like you can describe your problem perfectly and still not feel better, expressive work may be exactly what has been missing. Read more about play therapy for every age.

How soon can I be seen? +

Most new clients have their consultation within a few days and their first full session within one to two weeks. Perinatal concerns are time-sensitive, and I hold space in my schedule for mothers who need to be seen quickly.

Where are you located? +

We have two locations, in Decatur and Alpharetta, GA, and I see clients virtually across the entire state of Georgia. Whether you are in Atlanta, Athens, Savannah, or a small town in between, support is one video call away.

The first step is a conversation.

Fifteen minutes, free, no obligation. Tell me what is going on, ask me anything, and see if this feels like the right place for you.
