For teen girls and young women

She's holding it together everywhere. Except inside.

She doesn't have to hold it together alone. Straight A's and 2 a.m. panic. A full lunch table and the feeling of not belonging anywhere. For teen girls and college-age young women, the pressure to be perfect has never been louder. Therapy is the one room where she doesn't have to perform.

For parents

You know your daughter. And you know something is off.

Maybe the grades are still perfect, but the light has dimmed. Maybe the door stays closed, the answers are one word, and every conversation feels like walking on glass. Trusting a stranger with your child is a big ask. It is supposed to be. That is why I start with a free consultation, so you can get a feel for who I am before deciding.

My work with teens is attachment-focused, which means I am not just helping your daughter cope. I am helping strengthen the connection between you, so you can weather this season together and come out stronger.

Common reasons families reach out:

  • Anxiety

Racing thoughts, physical symptoms, avoidance, the constant hum of dread

  • Perfectionism

Never good enough, fear of failure, achievement tied to worth

  • Identity

Who am I, really? Belonging, self-image, and finding her own voice

  • School Pressure

Academic overload, college stress, burnout before adulthood even starts

  • Friendship & Social Stress

Shifting friend groups, social media comparison, conflict, and loneliness in a crowd

For teens

If it's you reading this: here's the honest deal

No clipboard interrogation. No repeating everything to your parents. Here is what sessions with me are actually like.

Your space, your pace

You do not have to spill everything in week one. We can talk, make art, use the sand tray, or just figure out what is actually stressing you out. You set the speed.

Real privacy

What you share stays between us, with the safety exceptions I will explain clearly in our first session. Your parents get updates on progress, not transcripts.

A therapist who gets it

Warm, direct, and never condescending. Creative approaches for the feelings that are hard to say out loud.

How expressive therapy works for teens

"Every girl deserves one hour that belongs completely to her."

Her space, her pace

Also for college-age young women

Eighteen to early twenties: still becoming, still welcome

The pressure does not end at high-school graduation. It changes shape: a new campus, a first apartment, imposter feelings, relationships, and the strange grief of leaving girlhood behind. Virtual sessions across Georgia make it easy to keep therapy in your corner wherever school takes you.

This is the same growth-and-connection work that runs through everything at Art & Soul, meeting you at your stage of life.

Parent questions, answered honestly

Will I know what happens in her sessions? +

You will know how she is progressing, what we are working on broadly, and anything related to her safety, always. The details of what she shares stay private, because that privacy is what makes therapy work for teens. We set these expectations together in the first session so everyone knows the ground rules.

What if she doesn't want to go? +

Very common, and not a dealbreaker. I suggest framing it as trying one session, not committing to forever. Most reluctant teens soften once they realize this is not another adult grading them. If she truly is not ready after a fair try, I will tell you honestly rather than keep billing you for sessions that are not helping.

Do you work with college students away at school? +

Yes. As long as she is physically in Georgia at the time of her session, we can meet virtually. Many of my college-age clients attend their sessions throughout the semester from their dorm, which keeps support steady through one of the biggest transitions of her life.

Do you take insurance? +

I am currently an in-network provider with Aetna. If you have another insurance plan, I am considered an out-of-network provider and can provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement. We can talk through your options during your free consultation so you have a clear understanding of what to expect.

How do we start? +

Book the free 15-minute consultation. Usually the first call is with you as the parent, then the first session includes both of you for introductions and ground rules, and from there the hour belongs to her, with regular parent check-ins woven in.

How is this different from talking to the school counselor? +

School counselors are valuable but stretched across hundreds of students. They focus on short-term social-emotional well-being within the educational system. This is weekly, clinical, confidential therapy with a licensed professional counselor, using approaches chosen specifically for your teen and the challenges they are navigating both in and outside of school.

You do not have to weather these years alone.

Start with a free 15-minute consultation. Parents and teens are both welcome on the call.
